Codeworks 1.0.0 is the current public beta, and getting it is now as simple as it should be: download the DMG, drag it to Applications, and open a project. The earlier signup flow is gone. No account, no waitlist, no email required.

What you get. The beta is the full editor: the native Swift and AppKit editing core, language-server completion and diagnostics, built-in Git, an integrated terminal with tasks, and LLDB debugging. X Agent, the AI agent built into the editor, is included and marked as beta inside the app. Everything runs under the built-in 14-day trial that starts on first launch.

Staying up to date. The app updates itself through a signed Sparkle feed on its own beta channel, so you install once and future builds arrive in-app. Every build is signed and notarized, and 1.0.0 requires macOS 14.0 or later.

It is still a beta. Sharp edges are the point of this phase. Crash reporting is built in and can be switched off at any time, and nothing leaves your Mac unless you choose to send it. If something feels wrong, slow, or un-Mac-like, that report is exactly what we want to read: support@codeworks.sh.

Get the build from the beta page, and see the pricing page for how licensing will work once Codeworks leaves beta.
